Road to Jericho Not far from Jerusalem in the Judean wilderness was Jericho, one of the world's oldest cities. The road to Jericho was where the story of the Good Samaritan took place. The road from Jericho to Jerusalem is steep, rough, barren & quite scarry for a large bus! Along this Jericho Road - in a most unexpected place is a monastery in the middle of the Judean Desert. The Mar Saba Monastery, east of Bethlehem, is built in and out of a mountainside. A Greek Orthodox monastery founded during the Byzantine period.   RETURN
